Starting from the West, at first comes the university, better known as the domicile of "Steven Eijskens".

Near to there is the famous grave of "Klingyarat"

After passing the empty seafor of Paul, we’ll see the Kura Kura Diving Resort Offices.

Thereafter comes the famous joglo (antique Javanese houses) bungalowpark, nowadays they named themselves "Jeparadise", infringing the © and ® of the Jepara Sailing Club. A good place to stay, however.

Then comes the fish harbout, with hundreds of traditional fishermens boats, smells a little bit fishy there.

Next stop is the LaMarine Restaurant, excellent food and drinks, with sea- and harbor view.

Following the harbor, where the ferry’s to Karimun have their homeplace.

At last, the wolrd famous Kartini Beach, excellent souvenir shopping on the local market, restaurants with seaview, and a turtle aquarium of immense size.

Kartini was born in 1879, April 21st. Her father RMAA Sosroningrat was Wedana (Assistant of Head of Jepara Regency Government) of Mayong sub distric . Her mother, MA Ngasirah was a girl from Telukawur village. Her father merried her mother in 1872. Kartini’s grandparents from her mother side were a great Moslem leader, named Kyai Haji Modirono and Hajjah Siti Aminah.

songgo langit waterfall

The waterfall is located at Bucu village sub-district Kembang, 30 km. north of Jepara City. The waterfall is 80 meters high and 2 meters wide. Local villagers believe that one’s body will stay young, after taking a bath or washing the face there.

The nature scenery around the waterfall is so beautiful with it’s relaxing air, making this place worth paying a visit.There are many kind of butterflies with beautiful colors.

The waterfall can be reached by car or motorbike, using the asphalt road.

Sage:
Once upon a time a young man came from Tunahan village and married with a young beautiful lady from Dukuh Sumanding Bucu village.

But tyhe husband got annoyed with his mother in law, and the couple left in the middle of the nigth, riding a car that was pulled by a cow, heading for the husbands origin.
It was so dark, that the couple lost the way and fell off the cliff (known as Songgolangit waterfall) and nobody ever heard of them anymore.

The sage is strongly believed by the local villagers and since then it’s prohibited that people from Tunahan and Bucu Village marry together, as they will meet too many obstacles in their relationship.
